Florian Verhein

Florian Verhein received a Bachelor of Engineering (Software Engineering) with First Class Honours and University Medal from the University of Sydney, graduating at the top of his class. Florian subsequently worked as a R&D Engineer at Telstra Research Labs (Business Innovation and Development, Sydney, Australia), and is now completing a PhD in Data Mining at the Database Systems group at the Ludwig-Maximilians-Universitaet Munich, Germany. He recently submitted another PhD in the Faculty of Engineering and IT at the University of Sydney. [Brief CV].

Florian's research interests cover a range of areas in Data Mining, Machine Learning and Statistics, in particular from the mathematical and algorithmic perspectives. [Research, Publications].

Florian is interested in collaborative innovation, technology transfer and the entrepreneurial challenges of commercial R&D and has a Graduate Certificate in Innovation and Enterprise from the University of Sydney [Education].
